Site Investigation and Inspection
bge staff have extensive experience assisting clients with soil and groundwater remediation projects conducted under various state and federal agencies. Our staff members are well versed in all aspects of the environmental investigation process, from pre-acquisition/pre-divestiture Phase I Due Diligence to Risk Assessment, Remediation, and Site Closure.
Environmental Risk Assessment
bge has successfully obtained closure for clients' sites by applying innovative risk-based solutions at various stages of a projects life. Whether it is an initial assessment of future land use potential or implementation of Risk-Based Closure Assessment and Remediation, bge can interface with state and federal agencies to identify appropriate response actions and expedite regulatory approval.
Permitting and Planning
bge staff members have years of experience working with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies to obtain permits and regulatory approval for the construction of new facilities, modification of existing facilities, or closure of abandoned facilities. We have performed services ranging from NEPA environmental resource reporting and pre-construction permitting to wetlands assessment and pre-acquisition environmental due diligence. bge professionals have a wide array of permitting experience and expertise and can assist our clients with all phases of permitting and planning for new or existing projects.
Remediation and Clean-up
bge professionals have managed multiple site investigation and remediation projects at petroleum exploration, pipeline, refining, equipment maintenance, and retail facilities throughout the United States. These projects have included off-site investigations and remediation and working with third party legal representatives, assisting client legal representatives with litigation strategy development, developing cost projections for various remedial technologies, and communicating with the appropriate agencies and stakeholders. We have also managed response, investigation, and remediation activities for a crude oil pipeline spill in a residential neighborhood. Through or staff's extensive background working in industry as well as environmental consulting, we approach the task of selecting remedial approaches with the perspective of an owner-operator. bge has saved thousands of dollars in unnecessary remediation costs for our clients by selecting response actions that meet the needs of our clients and the requirements of the regulatory agencies without utilizing commonly used but expensive and sometimes inefficient remedial technologies.
Natural Resource Investigation/Permitting (Wetlands, T&E etc.)
bge professionals have experience evaluating natural resources that may be affected by a proposed project and can assist our clients with planning for their protection and permitting any activities that may impact them. Wetlands, threatened or endangered species, surface and storm water protection, and soil erosion are just a few of the natural resource issues that bge has experience assisting our clients with. bge's staff members have performed inspections for the presence of potentially impacted natural resources and reviewed regulatory applicability to determine what steps are necessary to prevent our clients' projects from threatening important natural resources and to provide permits for activities covered under the appropriate regulations.
Waste Disposal Brokering and Support
bge has in-house personnel capable of providing complete waste profiling and disposal services. bge has relationships with various waste transportation and disposal facilities that allow us to manage our clients' waste disposal needs in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Our services range from identifying and profiling waste materials and waste streams, obtaining appropriate waste codes to preparing waste containers for shipment, and brokering cost-competitive pricing with transportation and disposal vendors.
