Responsibilities included: project management, client development, regulatory analysis and agency negotiations, recruited, hired and managed over 30 professional staff, budget development/management, strategic business planning and implementation. Also, served as company wide corporate counsel.

Developed and implemented effective policy review and coordination procedures for the Secretary for key offices or agencies within the Department including Congressional and Legislative Affairs, Public Affairs, International Trade Administration, and NOAA.
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (Chief-of-Staff)
Served as Chief-of-Staff to the General Counsel, duties included: representing NOAA/DOC on behalf of the General Counsel on matters involving the U.S. EPA, U.S. DOJ, U.S. DOI, Congress, state agencies and the private sector. Assisted and represented NOAA and the General Counsel in the development and management of several key agency matters including the Exxon Valdez spill negotiations, creation of Oil Pollution Act 1990 NRDA regulations, numerous oil/chemical spills, Superfund sites, and other contaminated sites in marine, estuarine and freshwater environments.

Mr. Ekonomou served as Deputy Director at the Office of White House Liaison, his duties included: Coordinating with White House Office of Personnel, Commerce Secretary's office, House and Senate offices, and numerous state and local officials. Interviewed and, if appropriate, placed political appointees for the U.S. Department of Commerce.
